*Increasing the recitation of the Quran*

The relationship between the Quran and this month is evident from this statement of the Prophet ﷺ narrated by Abdullah bin Umar:

“The Fast and the Quran will both intercede for the servant on the day of Qiyaamah. The Fast will plead ‘O Lord, I prevented him from food and desires during the day.’ The Quran will plead ‘I prevented him from sleep at night.'”
[Ahmad]

مَنِ استغفَر للمؤمنين والمؤمناتِ كتَب اللهُ له بكلِّ مؤمن ٍومؤمنةٍ حسنةً

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever seeks forgiveness for believing men and believing woman, *Allah ﷻ will write for him a good deed for each believing man and believing woman*.”
[Tabarani]

This dua reward is due to the fact that the ummah is so beloved to Allah ﷻ and His Noble Messenger ﷺ that whoever worries and cries and begs Allah ﷻ for this ummah the reward is incalculable! The two varients of the dua are:

1 {اللهم اغفر للمسلمين والمسلمات والمؤمنين والمؤمنات الأحياء منهم والأموات}
*Allahummaghfir lil musulimeen wal muslimaat, alahyaa’i minium wa alamwaat*

2 {اللهم اغفر للمؤمنين والمؤمنات}
*Allahummaghfir lil mu’mineena wal mu’minaat*
